After losing Merrill and crying nearly everyday and thinking I might not ever be ready for another cat again because of how bad that hurt..I realized that Im always going to be sad about her and Ill always miss her because she was my world..but Ive never not had a cat they have always been a huge part of my life.
I remember the first time I saw a cat..my brothers cat keeker she was a sleek and graceful black cat
I wanted to pet her really bad but she wouldnt let me so everyday I would try to catch her ( this is probably one of my first memories ) finally she let me and we became great friends Id put makeup on her and a ring on her tail..she was my first friend.
My first word was cat..it was also the first word I ever learned to write.
and it was also my first picture :)

I started looking at cats to adopt on tailwaggers facebook page
And then along came Dove this tiny little fluffy grey and white kitten..I showed her picture of josh.and he thought she was adorable we were also interested in her sister mochi but ..our apartment well only let us have one..so we filled out the adoption papers and waited and then a few days later they called saying we could come by anytime to pick out a kitty :)
So on friday we went to pick out a fur baby I was really really excited about it..I dont remember the last time I got that excited..I was like a child going to disneyland for the first time :)
We got there and we played with both of them..but I knew as soon as I saw her that she was the one for me..She jumped up and clung to her cage and she purrred
We played with both of them and then we left with her..
She was good the whole way home cuddling up in my arms and purring.
It took us a little over a day to come up with a name for her..( dove was the name she came with ) finally we decided on Sophie..she looks like a sophie with her sweet face and lady like manor.
Im very happy with her we have been cuddling and playing and watching cats 101 on youtube she loves it.
As you can see she is very playful! Her she is whispering secrets into Gus's ear

ReplyDeleteoh my goodness your kitty is ADORABLE!!! i want a kitty of my own so so badly..but sadly our home has a strict no pet policy. :(
Deleteat least we have local stray kitty parties outside all the time. there's about 6 cats now that come and play around our house all day long. they love the milk and turkey I feed them sometimes. ;)

DeleteI know how it is when we first moved in they said we couldnt have pets so I snuck my cat gus in but he hated hated it so he got to go back to my parents but then I got merrill ( rip ) and we got caught with her and they let us have her but we had to pay a huge fee...we are only allowed one cat or else we would probably have abunch.

awww. yeah the fees for pets are ridiculous nowadays! they said i could get a small contained animal here (like fish, hamster etc) but it would still cost me $300! so...i'll just wait. that's highway robbery!
ReplyDeleteit's funny i live behind an architecture firm and they are always complaining about the cats. but they don't bother anybody! all they do is lay around and have fun in the parking lot. i mean...i guess i do get kitty prints on my car...but they are so cute! i can't turn them away. those folks need to suck it up cause as far as i'm concerned the kitties are here to stay! (haha)
