Eureka/Carthage

So Ive been looking forward to a trip to Eureka Springs   for awhile now but it kept getting put off  money and different things like that the place is beautiful its where me and Josh had our honeymoon and we try to go every year..I hadn't went to flea markets in ages in that area so I thought what about a flea marketing trip....So I couldn't sleep that night I was really excited for it got up and got ready at 3am and then left at 9:00am and we got breakfast at Braums and we were on our way..
Its a really pretty drive mountains and cows and flowers and hills and old houses
I kept seeing flea markets on the way and Josh was like no we cant stop we don't have time..
When we finally got to Eureka the first stop was horrible..and set the pace for the whole day
The flea market was just way overpriced not very interesting and then the next one didn't even have 30 items in it..
The next flea market was kind of interesting nothing Id want though...lots of signs lots
and then the next was a little better not much..we bought 2 vintage tobacco pipes .. the guy who rang us up was fun he had Mr Garrisons voice ( from South park ) but once again no toys..
the next one was with a little old lady who was sweet so I just bought a sweet little yellow teacup and saucer..because ..little old ladies are adorable and I cant not buy from them
once again again no toys

the next one was a strange one..it was in a house and you had to ring the doorbell it was another old lady who was even more adorable than the last..and I thought about having a very stern conversation with her about how its unsafe for her to be doing what she is doing alone but then decided not to..
I bought a vintage tin ..there were a couple toys but not many not many  at all.

We then went off to a flea market that I remembered had toys along time ago..it was now a free clinic..I was beginning to see what kind of day it was but I still had a glimmer of hope.

we ventured into the busy downtown area full of hippies lesbians and bikers ..a few biker lesbians and hippie lesbians..


Eureka springs looks a lot like baby San francisco..when I think about it
not that Ive been there to San Francico in real life I just have watched a ton of movies
Dirty Harry made it look really cool..but I think South Park is probably  more acurate atleast nowdays..

We drove around looking for parking for like the next 3 hours seriously..nothing and finally I said with tears in my eyes I'm not really having any fun..can we maybe go home or do something else?
and my dear dear sweet husband said the day isn't over yet and I promised you a fun day how about Carthage and I was like ..we cant get there in time we are far far far from it and he said we could and we did.
I finally got to explore the downstairs area of the flea market where I got baby bright eyes and I found a few fun items not a lot but ..still I found toys..
and then I made it to one more flea market where I got a couple of other good things..one being a Cartman keychain that I must have missed last time when I got the others..


Ive decided that I'm no longer going to flea market in Arkansas ..it never fails to disappoint me I don't think they believe in toys because I never find them.
The next time I go to Eureka springs Im not going to flea market..im going to do the underground tour the pub and the rock shops.
I just wish I could have gotten squeaky toy pictures it was really pretty and I had them packed along with me..

got home looked at our tire and it was flat...argh
so the donut got put on..........
After all that we went out to eat at our favorite mexican food place El Charo but they have changed it the foods different and the service wasn't its usual 10 ....
So it will be a bit before I try it again..usually the place is amazing...simply amazing.


Even though it wasnt really the best weekend ever or anything and I didnt get to do half of what I planned it was still a pretty good time..thanks to Josh he knows how to make bad days better.

He even ended the night by watching one of my favorite movies with me Fright Night
