South park....

So today I had some horrible news.......South park wont be returning until September and its going to only have 10 episodes I already thought they didnt have enough per season they usually have 14..
So im pretty bothered by the whole thing..My hope is that when the box sets come out they will be cheaper.

As crazy as this might seem if they went off the air it would sort of be like losing a friend being a 90s child I grew up with them..I do however get kind of jealous that I had to grow up and they didnt..its a strange thought if they had aged  they would be about 24.

..........................on the bright side
Last weekend I went shopping and I had been resisting my urge to visit toys r us but I finally went and I found a deluxe talking Cartman on sale for 9.00 it was a steal.
I havent put batteries in him yet to see what he says.

the week before that I found south park toys in a machine to buy It put me in a pretty good mood.

In fourth grade I really didnt understand the show..it actually seemed kind of stupid to me..
I thought Kenny was a alien and I thought that a talking piece of poop was just stupid.but its really grown on me.

A lesson in kindess

Something beautiful happend today which is what prompted me to make this blog
my husband opened up the door and there was a package and he handed it to me to open and it was a lovely gift from http://www.etsy.com/shop/MsBekkahsCorner?ref=pr_shop_more she and I had been talking and she had asked for my address and she sent me this beautiful blanket for Sophie.

Ever since I started on etsy I made some great friends I didnt expect to it just happend people are so friendly and sweet on there and I find they share a lot of my interests.

So this is a thank you to everyone who has warmed my heart and made me realize that not everyone out there is bad.
You see over the years I had grown cold towards people I quit talking to them and I looked out at the human race with a heart filled with hate.
It wasnt good for me to feel that way and Im glad that feeling has began to vanish with the help of new friends old friends and family.

Let me start with the first person in my life who showed me love
My mom -She and I have always been close best friends
she made me paper dolls and read Nancy Drew to me long after most moms quit reading to their kids.
I dont know what I would do without her.

Josh-He made me realize that love is real and true and that when you quit looking you find.
I never knew I could have so much in common with someone

Merrill-I never knew much about you ..never knew for sure whether you were a boy cat or a girl cat..I didnt know your age..or your back story..But I knew one thing that I loved you..and still do

Holly-my cousin as a kid I always looked up to her she taught me how to make prank calls and moon traffic and light matches..which is one of my favorite childhood memories
and now I find that she is one of my heros because she helps so many animals and its because of her that I have sophie

Skipper-I grew up with you and you were my best friend you made me feel safe when I was alone and scared..Even though we didnt always get along I know you loved me and I love you ( RIP )

My dad-Even though he isnt really sure how to be a good dad..he still is in his own way..He knows how to make me laugh..and he taught me to be myself and not care what others thought.

Derek -My cousin who is more of a brother to me than a cousin thank you for playing with me when most older kids wouldnt have wanted to play with a little bratty kid.

My brother Justin- I realize we arent very close but I still have some pretty fond memories of you
You pushing me in the wagon..and watching you play video games and when you surprised me and bought me a bike when I was 6 and taking me to watch the Lion king and even though and getting me my first happy meal and introducing me to video games and horror movies
I just want you to know that even though we never really talk.the time I had with you was great.
That time you let me stay over and watched horror movies is one of my favorite memories.
and Kim -Im really sorry about the times we didnt get along..I could be a bratty kid and I thought that you were being mean..now that im older I look back and I realize you werent much older than me and you werent really being mean..you were just being young :)

My grandpa Gene -You remind me of winnie the pooh and elmer fudd
you are dapper and sweet and I need to visit you more
My Grandma Joyce-I love you even though I dont show it as much as I should
also Ive never met a couple as great as you and grandpa you stick together no matter what hard times come your way and you guys set a great example of what a marriage should be.

Grammy-I admire you for your strength and your morals you are sort of like a super hero in my eyes..

Mrs Vanburen-My art teacher and someone who gave me really good advice and of course gave me Merrill :)
Mrs Buckingham -my 5th grade teacher who always let me talk her ear off and taught me that reading was fun
My 6th grade teacher-who was a really great teacher and drove all the way to see me in a little play that meant a lot to me.

Mildred-Even though I know you wont read this because you are no longer you still remain in my heart as the sweetest little lady in the world you are my definition of what a lady should be your voice was music to my ears and you were so kind to me at a place where most people looked down on me.

Sophie-I love your fuzzy fluffy self and your cuddles and kisses.

Sherri-Joshs grandma just looking at her smile makes me smile..I love that little redheaded lady
Marilyn-Joshs grandma if angels walk the earth you are one of them
Bill-Joshs grandpa you are great!
Uncle Teddy-You are my favorite uncle and my favorite cowboy and my favorite person on my moms side of the family.

Isobel-The first person to talk to me on etsy and someone I admire very much. She breathes life into beautiful stuffed animals.
Victoria-Who has became a great friend to me and someone to talk to
thank you for sending me gift bags for Merrills store it meant a lot.
Judi-who lets me ramble on and on about things and also shares my love of vintage toys.
Gry-Thank you for reaching out to me when Merrill died and is someone I can talk about cats and agatha christie with.
The Cat Avi team-Thank you for being there when my heart was breaking from the loss of my dear cat-you made me smile through my tears.
Hannah-Thank you for reaching out to me when I needed someone the most and sending me a scrap book for Merrills pictures.I miss you and I hope to talk to you again.
Bekkah-Thank you for sending me a gift and helping me realize some things that I needed to realize.

And a thank you to my other friends
for still talking to me after high school
Brandy and Lacey :)

100 sales!!

So yesterday I finally made it to 100 sales in my shop Im surprised I never thought Id make it!
My goal was to reach 100 before the end of the year and I did it!
I feel like I can have more confidence in things I do now because I finally reached a goal ( I usually dont make it )

Im also happy because Im getting to do something I enjoy
Ive always loved crafting and Ive always loved going to flea markets and looking for treasures and now I have a job doing it.

Ive always loved selling things I remember when I was about 5 I decided to sell some of my mcdonalds toys I made a table outside by putting a wood plank over my moms barrel planter
and I laid out the toys I remember that I put my Hook toys out and I made a sign and put it by the road toys 1cent and a few kids on bikes stopped and bought toys.

Ive always wanted to have my own store but I cant afford to buy one and etsy is letting me live out my dream.

So wish me luck because I now know that this is something im going to want to do for the rest of my life.

Its a boy!..

So today I learned something that shocked me to tears
Today was Sophies appointment to get spayed so josh took her to her appointment at 8am
and he woke me up at noon when he got her to tell me that my cat is now pretty much a girl
and I said what?!?! and he said yeah it turns out that Sophie is a boy and not a girl..
and he also informed me that Sophie acted so bad at her appointment that the vet told him to get a new vet..because he doesnt want to see him again.

ARGH!
So im a little upset but this has happend to me in the past with my cat Lucy..
When I was turning 16 my mom asked what I wanted and I said that I wanted to get a kitten from my cousins who had a new liter of babies ready to go..she said ok and sent me over there to get one but I got 2 instead because the kittens were best friends and brothers and didnt want to be apart
I named one cat Maxwell and one cat Lucy ( after beatles songs )
well it turns out that Lucy wasnt a girl but was a boy but I went ahead and kept the name Lucy because I wanted them to both have beatles names.

So Im sure Ill keep the name Sophie but only because he is used to it.

My husband is pouting over it..he tends to pout over a lot of stupid stuff but im used to it we have been married for over 5 years now.

Flea market adventure funnn

Last saturday I got to go on the flea market adventure that I had been waiting to go on for awhile now.
We went to a total of 6 flea markets starting in neosho and then to seneca and then to grove oklahoma.

The first flea market that we went to was a fairly new one so it didnt have much in it yet I did find a few interesting items.
I got a brass letter opener with a teddy bear ( I already put it up in my etsy store )
and a few old metal letters I got a K,J and a V
Josh got a vintage tin of tobacco that he is hoping to sell online soon..its 60 years old!!!
The next flea market was this little junkie one but those are the best because things are always really really cheap.
I got a few vintage toys a Jem doll that has seen better days it is naked and missing an arm and has some discoloration but the head is in perfect shape.
I got some vintage Ninja turtles toys and a few small things for my animal charity store.
The next flea market I went to was a small one that I had never been to before it didnt have much but I did find a bag of barbie shoes and acessories I also got a Kikis delivery service vhs and then the next flea market was across the street so we walked over to it
I found a large box of Crystals for only 5.00 which is a really good deal because normally I pay about 1.00 a piece for them at the rock shops in Eureka Springs ( its a pretty little town with some great shops and lots of art ) the only bad thing about it is that things close at 5pm so being a night person I dont go there very often.

I also bought a Castle in the sky vhs and a book The Gnome From Nome its in the Serendipity series.
After doing those flea markets we still had some time left so we went on to Grove oklahoma
The first flea market we stopped at there was TERRIBLE I waited forever in line because the lady was chatty and then when I finally got to the front she said she was sorry and then she said that she actually wasnt sorry and to bad for me..so Ill never go back again I hate it when people are rude for no reason :( so after that we left and made it to the last flea market where I had looked at a MLP in the past and I was hoping it would still be there it was so I bought it and as we were paying Josh noticed a vintage tobacco pipe and he asked if he could look at it ..it didnt have a price so the lady just said 6.00 we did some reasearch on it when we got home that night and it goes for about 300 wow!

Heres some pictures of some of the stuff I found

                                                       My little pony Skyflier

The jem doll
As you can see some child was rough with her
poor doll has a had a terrible life.

Tokka from the Ninja turtles ( my husband used to have this toy when he was little )
 and  Leonardo from TMNT

And this sweet little cat figurine is one of my favorite things I bought on the whole trip
I put it in my animal charity store hopefully someone will buy this for christmas :)

The childrens book I picked up

and the viewmaster I bought at the store with the rude lady

.....................................and heres what the Jem doll looked like new

Tomorrow I get to go on another flea market adventure not a big one though just to a couple in my old home town...hopefully Ill find some Kewpies!!! ( my kewpie inventory is running low )

Sophie is growing growing growing its really interesting to watch her grow and her eyes have changed from blue to green ...Im taking her out to look at the christmas lights pretty soon ( she loves car rides )

Well thats it
Until next time :)

Rainbow brite and the 1980s

I love 80s stuff..but unfortunately I didnt get to see much of the 80s..I was born in 1988

One of the things I love most is Rainbow Brite as a little girl I wanted to be rainbow brite and I pretended my horse was starlite the most wonderful horse in the universe.
I had a rainbow belt and my dad rented the movies for me all the time.

                                                               (      me age 5)

As a kid I was sick most of the time and didnt get out much..but the bright colors always cheered me up.

I had a rainbow brite night gown and I remember I wanted the doll so bad!
My parents finally took me on a very long flea marketing trip searching and searching for it until we finally found one she was a smallish one and in good shape.
Times passed and I have no idea where that doll went..But recently my mom bought me a large newer one at a flea market and I also found a vintage 1983 18 inch one that I have up for sale in my shop.

Last christmas I was lucky enough to receive a dvd box set from my husband.
When we were dating I introduced him to the cartoon ( he had never heard of it ) and he introduced me to Scooby doo and the Boo Brothers :)

Heres a box set I plan to buy pretty soon of 80s cartoons..I plan on eating cereal and watching it.

My husband has asked me what I want for christmas and I think I found what I want :)

Heres the doll in my shop https://www.etsy.com/listing/113286581/vintage-1983-rainbow-brite-doll
also you can watch the commercial for this ad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_ft8enn9uk

Heres the necklace I made for myself awhile back ..it looks great but it is HUGE

I pretty much never quit loving Rainbow Brite and I think I even love toys and cartoons more than I did as a child.
