Non vintage items on etsy

Im getting red in the face..im feeling faint and I kind of feel like im going to throw up but not before I break something..Im that upset ..

Why you might ask?
Because being a true vintage nut and finding non vintage items all over etsy is driving me insane..

its been going on for awhile now but its only gotten worse..

to be honest I had always thought it was horrible to report someone or message them to tell them they are doing something wrong..I have always been like mind your own business but finally I snapped it started with Mighty Muggs and brand new Star wars bobble heads from Toys r us

next I found a repro Rainbow Brite..

I messaged the owner of this....repro to tell him that it was, he is a guy so I thought that maybe he just didn't understand Rainbow Brite but it turns out the guy was just a scumbag who loves money and doesn't mind lieing to his customers he didn't want to know the truth about his doll so despite the fact that he now knows he has kept it up for sale.

Compare

Rainbow Brite had Orange hair and her Sprite Twink was fabric not plastic ( plus everything about that Rainbow Brite is wrong just wrong )
also I sent the guy several links proving to him but he still said I was wrong..

Next we have this wonderful collectible vintage treasure that the shop owner claims is from the 1960s ,,,,really how dumb does she think we are..Shrek came out in 2001 and I forget what year they had the baby but its even later than 2001.

So when etsy asked her what year it was made she totally just lied and said 1960.,,,some people..

Next ..someone else who "thinks" that Shrek is vintage ....
this is getting old and im getting madder
    check it out

From the same shop we have some repro care bears
    Compare to the Original deal

Next we have someone who is either very bold or very stupid because they posted a Furby with the actual 1998 date
Next up is a shop that is so very bold that it makes me throw up a little
the shop is almost all new toys  Heres a late 2000 era MLP

And yet another Furby I like what they have to say about it

16 inches great shape.. not new.. made in 1999.. cute chubby fella
Bodly stating that it is made in 1999 and apparently since its not new that makes it vintage in there eyes,
We also have from there store a teletubbie they came out in 1997

As much as I love Pokémon it doesn't belong in the vintage section its not vintage yet..im not that old..

When you see an non vintage item on etsy report them

I cannot share the names of the shops as I have been threatened by an unhappy person

    Keep it vintage :)

    1. I had no idea there was this much bogus "vintage" stuff on Etsy. I know I bought one of those repro care bears at a thrift shop, thinking it was vintage, but when I got home and looked it over carefully it had a tag with the date clearly marked. Maybe that seller's tag was missing? But these other things--wow. I'd go ahead and report them to Etsy.

    2. Vanessa, you are doing the right thing. It is too bad that they can't just abide by the rules they agreed to when they opened their shop.

    3. Vanessa that is great the one of the shops took their too non vintage items off. I think sometimes people just don't do any research on their items and just assume they are vintage or they just don't read the rules properly. I think it is a good person who when shown the mistakes goes woopies and remedies the situation. But when they won't listen to anyone and just try to sell it anyway that is the people that can make you angry because they aren't being honest. There is this word you don't hear to often these days but I do think it is important. That is the word integrity!

      2. Well..i think that person probably knew it was Shrek and SpongeBob ( pretty common knowledge as to when they came out ) I think they probably didn't want to get caught.and to get intro trouble with etsy..but im really happy they took them off

    5. Chris Tanck not a very good idea to express yourself in this kind of manner, you are a seller on etsy, you represent your business.

    8. I'm glad you are taking a stand Vanessa. I don't think it's fair for people to be selling items like that on etsy since it's against the rules AND also falsehood. As a buyer... would you trust a seller that lies about their items just to make a sale? I know I wouldn't. And if for some reason I accidentally bought some "fake" vintage item unknowingly I would be quite upset about it.
