Love is all you need

Warning a bit mushy :)

Today is my 6 year wedding anniversary,and I am very very happy!!
I have a wonderful husband who is so very sweet and patient with me ..very patient with me

And has made the last 6 years of my life the best I have ever had ...


We had known eachother less than a year when we got married and we had known eachother less than 2 hours we became a couple and pretty much right away it was decided that we were forever and we would never be apart.


We met on myspace..you know the thing that came before facebook and started talking on the phone and then a few days later met because he didnt live far away
on our first date he came to my house and we watched Blazing saddles and then decided to go driving which took us to the park it was night time and a pretty brave move on my part..alone at night with a strange guy..but I could tell he was harmless :) and my mom being my mom had wrote down his licence plate number and discription of that he looked like just incase I got murdered and thrown in a ditch...
We had a good time we sat on the park bench and talked about lots of things childhood ..cartoons movies toys and then we went to walmart and walked around and looked at the toys and talked about how they changed since we were kids..not so long back.
We then went to sonic and he asked what I wanted and I said that Id take a Ocean water..he didnt know what that was and he ordered me a water..I didnt want to say anything..first date and all so I just sipped my water.
then it was time to take me home and he had manners he didnt try any naughty stuff he asked very nicely for a kiss and he walked me to the door very polite and even though..I at the time I wasnt wanting a relationship ..one found me and I knew I was ready for one because he was the right one for me.
                                                                          Dating

We got engaged on New years and then we got married at the park we had our first date at
a park we both had happy childhood memories of as kids

For our honeymoon we went a beautiful little artsy town Eurkea Springs Arkansas which we plan on going to in a few weeks as we couldnt this week because other things were going on.

 

 

 

 

Went to the park today for pictures but it was a bit crowded...

 

 

Its been a great 6 years with many many happy ones to come!!

Here we go again 53 squeakys for me to love

 

As you my few readers probably know Ive been buying squeakys like a crazy for awhile now

I just cant resist them I love them LOVE them they are so cute

Ive been working on a book its the perfect excuse for my beginning to get expensive hobby

Plus Im about to turn 25 its probably time I do something.

Im in love with the company Alan jay but they are very hard to find I search ebay and etsy nearly everyday and I finally lucked out I found the sweetest saddest little doll..one I had wanted for a bit now the doll on the phone she was only .20 cents yes a wonderful deal because the finder of the doll wanted her to go to someone who would care about her and im just that person :)

I plan on cleaning her up thanks to one of the toys I bought on ebay sometime back a stahlwood clock I have an idea for squeakys that are starting to deflate fill them up with fiberfill to help them keep their shape.

The next grouping came from ebay I got the whole lot for 20.00 a really good deal

Small town flea marketing

Awhile back on the way to the aquarium in tulsa ok I saw some neat little flea markets in all the little towns we passed and I asked Josh to take me back sometime and he said he would so a month passed or so....
and then saturday he took me I woke up early had some coffee and we drove and stopped off at the first little town
The first flea market we went to didnt have much but we bought some divided plates..its ok though because they didnt take debit card and we only had a small amount of cash
the next flea market was much more interesting tons of old interesting books and toys and I bought a ton of stuff.

The next flea market we went to after that was a flop I didnt get anything

The next flea market wasnt new to me but I was glad to go as I usually find some good stuff

not a whole lot this time though

but this little crawling cupies are cute.

 

 

The next one was one I hadnt been to in about 5 years because its always closed when I go by this time I found a ton of great stuff I didnt take pictures of half of it though.

  I got a bag of dolls for a good price Im not sure who the first one is but her hair is pretty bad
the next one is a 1987 mattel wee wild things doll in great shape and the next a sea wee in pretty good shape but her hair needs a bit of work.

That was the end of my flea marketing for that day It was very fun I got a ton of great things

I have a few items I meant to show last week but never got around to it so I guess Ill do that now

theres a flea market I hit pretty often I dont always find good things because the place gets pretty picked through all the time these days..but this round I managed to find something I just love

A large sized doll with beautiful but haunting features I snagged her for 7.00 she is in good shape other than a pen mark on her face. She reminds me of  a book my friend Victoria introduced me to The lonely doll by Dare Wright..Ill probably hold onto her she is so sweet.The next is a chair my husband got for a his studio to replace his old ugly broken one it was a steal at 40.00

Charity store update

I mostly talk about my vintage toy store but I also have a animal charity store and I thought Id do a nice little update about its progress.



Its been open about a year now and for the longest time it hadn't been doing good very upsetting I almost gave up on it..but Im glad I didn't
I decided to give it one more good go and I so I added some really good stuff one thing being a Garfield teapot I had bought some time back and had never used and after some thought I realized the best place for it was Merrills store and in less than 3 minutes of posting it it sold..and I was shocked..a very very sweet lady who is now a friend of mine purchased it.
I had several more sales and made just over 50.00 which I donated to the shelter where I got Sophie :)

My cousin Holly helps out with so much there and its through her that I found out about the shelter.


Tailwaggers is great they do so much for the animals
they hold events to raise money for the animals and they walk them and spend time with them and make sure they get loving homes.



I feel much better about my shop now Im not going to give up on it
Ive always wanted to help animals somehow..and this is how or atleast one of the ways.

In Memory Of Merrill Young

Bright eyes,
burning like fire.
Bright eyes,
how can you close and fail?
How can the light that burned so brightly

The day I got Merrill

April 19th will be a year without my love Its been a hard and sad year..Ive tried to smile and laugh and sometimes I do..but somedays its hard because I no longer have my best friend.

She was more to me than a pet..she was a companion on my lonely days,my daughter and sometimes even my grandma :) 



I thought Id talk about my happy memories with her.


Ill start with the day I got her ..I hadnt been married long and days alone while Josh was at work were hard,the apartment didnt allow pets but I took a chance when my mom told me that my old high school art teacher had a cat that needed a home..the cat had showed up on her doorstep and wasnt getting along with her cats..the cat wanted to be the only cat.
So my mom went to go get her for me. and when Merrill stepped out of the cat carrier it was like she had lived here her whole life..she came up to us and asked for a can and nuzzled and then went up stairs to look around and found my Alice and Wonderland picture book and started looking at it with interest..

The next few days were fun just me and her bonding and watching Sleeping Beauty and listening to music..Merrill loved music and movies.

I never ever quit talking about Merrill I probably drove people crazy but she was my everything ..still is.

Merrill was in the window every morning greeting the sun and every evening saying goodnight to the sun...Sometimes if I look carefully enough I can still see her silhouette.

Merrill could watch classic Scooby doo all day everyday..she also enjoyed Ms Marple ..when she heard the theme  heard here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqGmnLsDOxo she would come running and take her place on the chair in front of the tv.

She loved long car rides and sometimes if the ride ended before she was ready she would cry and growl.

One of her favorite things was for me to sing to her ..we had our songs

I kept her hidden for a few weeks and then got caught...I cried and cried thinking  that they wouldnt let me keep her..but we found a way to pay the non refundable 300 something and get a doctors note for me..

Josh and me and Merrill were perfect for eachother we had so much in common
we didnt like many people we had our health problems and we loved eachother.


I had a game I liked to play when Josh and Merrill would fall asleep I would take pictures of them with hats on.

I think I had more in common with Merrill than anyone..except that she was more of an angel than I could ever dream of being.
I loved her peanut butter smudge and carmel swirls and how she reminded Josh and me of bunny track ice cream..she made Josh gain weight because every time he looked at her he had to to eat ice cream.

Her eyes had a dreamy and wise look about them..I could tell that cat understood me.


She loved cherry flavored twizzlers and ice cream. ...:)





We had so many happy memories but not nearly enough
Id give anything to have one more day just one more.
I wish I had been there with her to say goodbye and I wish I could have given her a kiss.

Squeak toy Adventures

This weekend has been a fun one :)
full of sunshine and flowers and toys!

I ended up skipping out on the yardsales to just do some exploring.


Friday

I woke up early and headed out towards the countryside stopping at the scary flea market ( not so scary anymore ) I mentioned it in one of my early blog posts.
I bought a few small items but I had remembered that they had some rare horror movie vhs movies that I had meant to get but never got because I wanted to see about getting them on dvd first but after doing some research I found that some of them havent been released yet and probably wont be and the ones that have cost 40.00 and up but they were all gone..so no horror movies for me.

We did however get lucky because the chair we had wanted to get last year was still there we couldnt fit it into our tiny little toyota so we gave them money to hold it for us.

After that we wondered off until we ended up at a park and decided to take some pictures.

      The woodland bear doll had an epic adventure!!! and I went home and went to bed :)


     Saturday!!!

I almost didnt get up because my knee hurt so bad that I wanted to lay in bed and cry about it but the more I thought about it ..I knew Id regret missing out on a beautiful day.
I packed up some more squeakys and we went to some woods near by for picture taking
The woods we went to have a beautiful spring and a nice picnic area.

Here is one of my newer additions to my growing collection..he makes me think of the water babies
It took several shots to get it right but we finally did..he tried to get away a few times

 









 


Josh said it looks like he is peeing..I said no he is playing hide n go seek,

This ones name is Josh ( yes named after my husband )

 

 

And then I turn around and I see this

He Just couldnt resist making a fire :) we stayed around for awhile to enjoy it eating a few snacks and talking until it started to get dark.

Sunday
I got up today put ice of my knee to get it ready for a lonnnng hike in the woods
Of course on the way we stopped at a flea market that I had once found some nice toys at..not this time though I did however go to the animal charity booth to buy stuff for Merrills shop.
After that the long hike where I huffed and I puffed and almost passed out the whole way because most of it was uphill and I was carrying a ton of stuff on me...but I did get some good pictures and much needed exercise so it was worth it.

 And as we were taking the pictures I saw a bat and Josh had to look and then he decided to make cheeping sounds at them and they attacked..silly

End of the weekend..sleep time.
